Inside Look: The Leading AI Company in the Industry

The hype around AI and large language models (LLMs) in the last 12-24 months is well-deserved, as these technologies have the potential to transform various industries, including content creation and marketing.

AI and LLMs have impacted content as their first disruption because content is primarily about information and discourse, which are areas where AI and LLMs excel. By analyzing vast amounts of data and identifying patterns, AI and LLMs can generate high-quality content that is informative, engaging, and relevant to the target audience. This is why we are seeing the increasing use of AI and LLMs in content creation, as they can help businesses save time and resources while producing high-quality content.

Marketing is all about creating, shaping, or forming perceptions and opinions, just like content. With AI and LLMs, businesses can create more personalized and targeted marketing campaigns that resonate with their audience. By analyzing consumer behavior and preferences, AI and LLMs can help businesses tailor their marketing messages to individual consumers, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates.

The Rise of AI in Marketing

The rise of AI and LLMs in content and marketing has significant implications for mankind. On the one hand, it can help businesses and individuals create and distribute high-quality content and marketing messages more efficiently and effectively. On the other hand, it raises concerns about job displacement and the ethical use of AI and LLMs. As these technologies continue to evolve, it is essential to address these challenges and ensure that they are used responsibly and ethically.

While I won’t delve into the job displacement aspect of the risks from AI, given my focus, I’d like to share my thoughts about the implications of AI for businesses.

Ever since the introduction of diffusion based video creation models by the likes of Sora, Lumiere, Vlogger, EMO and others, I’ve been grappling with this thought: “In the context of creating perceptions (which is what content ultimately does), which, with the help of AI, can be easily faked, be misleading or downright wrong, what do text-to-video or image-to-video technologies mean for content marketing?

Further, how easy it is about to become for larger brands with computing muscle to dominate and corner the said discourse in their favour, leaving small businesses completely out of touch and essentially outside the “ring” so to speak where the battle for customer attention is all but assuredly secured by the big guys…

Manus A Kumarr, CEO of Media Monk

This is a rather uncomfortable thought even to ponder upon, let alone prepare to deal with.

Given the power of video content in marketing, tools like HeyGen already provide a significant advantage to those with the financial muscle to pay upwards of $1,000 a month to generate video at scale without ever touching a camera or video editing software.  The rise of these technologies can undoubtedly create perceptions that are misleading, fake, or wrong, leading to confusion, mistrust, and even harm.

One significant implication of AI and LLMs in content creation is the potential for deepfakes and other forms of manipulated media. With text-to-video or image-to-video technologies, it is becoming increasingly easy to create convincing fake videos or images that can deceive viewers and influence their perceptions. This can have serious consequences in various domains, including politics, business, and media.

As referred to earlier, another implication of AI and LLMs in marketing is the potential for larger brands to dominate the discourse and leave smaller businesses behind. Larger brands with computing muscle can leverage AI and LLMs to create and distribute high-quality content and marketing messages at scale, making it challenging for smaller businesses to compete. This can lead to a concentration of power and influence in the hands of a few dominant players, potentially stifling innovation, competition, and diversity.

With most small businesses busy with survival, ignoring the rapid shifts in the world of marketing, customer perception and eventually revenue generation, could be a fatal blow to many.

– a simple observation

To address these challenges, it is crucial to establish ethical guidelines and regulations around the use of AI and LLMs in content and marketing. This includes ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in the development and deployment of these technologies. It is also essential to promote digital literacy and critical thinking skills to help individuals and businesses navigate the complex information landscape and make informed decisions. But historically, such steps have only helped the bigger players and hardly ever have the intended result on that which is being regulated. So, I’m not sure if regulation is what’s needed…

What makes Media Monk a Leading AI Company

At Media Monk, we harness the power of multiple AI models to provide the best possible content for our clients. Our journey began with OpenAI, which has been a crucial part of our platform and continues to perform various tasks for us. However, as new models emerged, we expanded our toolkit to include Mistral, Anthropic, Llama, Google’s Vertex AI, PaLM2, Gemini, Gemma, Dall-e 3, and Stability AI, among others.

OpenAI

Media Monk began its journey with OpenAI. When we first started blue-printing the vision for what Media Monk was to become, at that time, the only LLM capable enough to provide us what we needed was OpenAI’s chatGPT-3. We’ve come a long way and now have every single OpenAI model deployed throughout Media Monk, performing various tasks.

For instance, when you’re expanding a business growth idea suggested by Media Monk, the heavy-lifting in that case is being performed by chatGPT-4 along without algorithmic filters and post-processing of data received by the LLM.

We also use chatGPT for some type of textual content – such as very specific articles or listicle and in some cases also for producing video scripts. However, over time, we have noticed a slight degradation in OpenAI’s models, which forced us to expand to using other LLMs that are a better fit for purpose in some instances.

Mistral

Working with Mistral has been an interesting journey for us. The LLM is great and we use it for around 5% of our agentic workload. For instance, one piece of the brand voice generation uses Mistral’s LLM – just the one piece, because in our testing, Mistral outranked all other LLMs in providing what we wanted for our clients when setting up brand personas. Other than that, we are yet to be convinced of Mistral’s broader scope of deployment at Media Monk.

PS: For our French speaking customers from Canada and France, more than 80% of your content, regardless of which agentic tool was used to generate it, is always post-processed using Mistral’s expertise in French language modelling.

Anthropic

Anthropic’s Claude has been a game-changer for Media Monk and by extension its clients. I personally fought tooth-and-nail with our team to place a higher priority on allocating content creation tasks to Claude’s models in comparison to OpenAI because I had been observing a steady decline in OpenAI’s adherence to prompts and response requirements, which was routinely causing us to update our code-base, which I found to be a weekly nightmare to say the least. But Claude… Claude has been a really good agent in that regard. Its responses are nearly always as expected, yet, still requiring post-processing.

So when you’re setting up your brand, and you arrive at the point where you see “Content Generated for You While you’ve been setting up your brand” section – that’s Claude’s magic. We spent nearly 3 months perfecting that process, optimising it for speed and accuracy. The first 100 or 200 runs were frustratingly slow, until we managed to optimise the tech infrastructure that has made it possible for that quality of content to be generated while you’re going through and setting up your brand, which is a 3-5 min job and we only have enough data to generate the content (for articles, listicles, business growth ideas) by the time you’re around the 4th minute – giving us no more than 30-40 seconds to analyse your inputs, produce the content, post-process it and make it available to you. OpenAI was just not able to provide us with that level of precision – but Claude made it work.

Llama 2

We will be retiring this integration soon, now that Llama3 is out but we don’t use it as much as we could, to be honest because of its context-window limitations (4096 tokens) and making the content as targeted and specific as we make it, often requires a larger context window.

You will see Llama2 in action when you’re working in the Content Ideas section at the point where keywords are analysed for their potential effectiveness for your existing content.

PaLM2, Google’s Vertex AI, Gemini and Gemma

This entire cluster is quite versatile and has helped Media Monk extend a number of its features and offerings in recently months. You will see Gemini, PaLM2 and Gemma in action when you’re enhancing a real estate listing using just the photos of the property. Google’s computer vision technology is second to none in this regard and we use it to understand the context of what’s in the photos.

Dall-e 3

Dall-e3 is currently deployed for producing images for engagement posts, enhanced news stories and in some cases, background imagery for your videos. However, since implementing Stability.ai’s models recently, Dall-e3 is currently only being assigned 30% of the task load.

Stability AI

We currently use SD3, Stability.AI’s most advanced image model along with other tools provided by Stability.AI for various image-related workflows. For instance, if you’re on the Boost Plan, you’ll see SD2 in action when creating feature images for your articles, listicles or website content. If you’re on the Boss Plan, you’ll see it in action across any touchpoint where an image is required.

Soon, we are also releasing a complete end-to-end e-Commerce Product Enhancement tool where you’ll be able to upload an image (even the worst quality you can imagine), and using a 7-step workflow, we will transform it into a ready-to-go product design.

In Closing

Each of these models brings unique strengths to the table, allowing us to tailor our content to our clients’ specific needs. For instance, Mistral excels in French language modelling, while Anthropic’s Claude has been a game-changer for us in producing high-quality content with precise adherence to prompts. We use Google’s Vertex AI for computer vision technology, while Dall-e 3 and Stability AI help us produce high-quality images for our clients.

With the rapid pace of AI development, we understand that it can be challenging for small businesses to keep up. That’s why we’ve integrated these AI tools into our all-in-one platform, democratizing entry and use of this technological race for our clients. By relying on our continuous innovation, small businesses don’t need to invest in expensive AI technologies, as we provide them with the best and most innovative content creation tools available.

At Media Monk, we’ve done the hard work of determining which AI models are best suited for specific tasks, so our clients don’t have to. Our platform is a leader in the age of AI, where new models and technology are emerging every day. With Media Monk, our clients can trust that they are always using the best and most advanced content creation tools available in the market.
