Brand creation involves setting up subject matter and audience profile that is used to produce targeted and brand-relevant content.
Brands inside Media Monk are a foundational peg. Every content item Media Monk creates is aligned with each brand’s persona and audience definition. In this “How To” guide, we will discuss how to set up a brand and the steps involved in firmly grounding this foundational peg.
Step 1. Click on the New Brand button #
When you click on the New Brand button, you will be taken to the “Brand Setup” screen which would take you through the steps for creating the brand.
- Enter your brand name. In most cases, that would be your company name
- Enter a tagline or your brand’s slogan
- Add your phone number – This is used later for producing call to actions for videos and other creative assets
- Add your support email address
- Identify your target reach. The options are “Local”, “Regional”, “Nationwide” or “Global”
- Enter your website URL – This is a crucial step and you must have at least 2-3 paragraphs about your business on the website. As soon as you enter your website, mediamonk.ai will visit your site and interact with it. It will then produce a vision statement for your brand based on what it discovers.
- Specify your City
- Specify your Country
- Pick your brand’s timezone – This is used to schedule posts down the line
- Specify Your brand’s language locale
- Pick your Industry
- Adjust the Vision Statement auto-captured from item 6
- Provide a few key-phrases (3-4 words in length each)
- Define your voice style
- Define your brand’s personality and the perception you wish to create
- Define your primary competing factor – What is this?
- Define your secondary competing factor
- Upload your logo
Step 4. Brand Persona Definition #
This is a very important step. The information you enter in this step will determine how your persona is defined. You can either use the keyword option or the description option. Here’s what that screen should look like:
Once you click on the “Send to A.I. Engine” button, Media Monk’s gets into action and starts preparing the right subject matter definitions for your brand. It includes the following attributes:
- A Punchy Headline
- A 15-second Elevator Pitch – These are the toughest to put together for small businesses. A long-format business description
- And a bunch of relevant hashtags
Here’s what was produced by Media Monk for the fictitious Financial Services brand, Vanguard Consulting Group based in Singapore.

Step 5. Brand Audience Creation #
Most businesses struggle to accurately define a brand’s intended target audience. In this step, Media Monk’s AI engine will automatically determine the ideal target market relevant for the brand, based on the subject definition created in the previous step. This is done by analysing businesses in the same industry as yours and somewhat closely related to the subject matter your brand caters to. Consider this to be like using the wisdom of the crowd based on the businesses that have come before you and providing an accurate description of the type of audience that is most likely to respond positively to your brand’s messages. Click on the “Process” button next to the brand subject from the previous step as shown in the example below:
In the course of defining your audience, Media Monk provides the following data-points.
A general target definition: This is an overview of the type of clientele your brand is most suited for. This is what Media Monk generated for the Vanguard example: The ideal target customers for Vanguard Consulting Group are high net worth individuals in Singapore who are seeking comprehensive wealth management and financial solutions. These individuals are typically between the ages of 35 and 65, with a preference for private banking and personalised financial advice. They are actively involved in managing their wealth and have a high level of transaction readiness. They value the expertise and regulatory compliance offered by a Singapore Monetary Authority regulated financial advisor. These customers have a significant spending power and are interested in growing their wealth through fixed income products, asset management, and family trusts.
Audience Segments: These are the specific target audiences that your brand is likely to gain traction with. These are based on the gender, age-group, social media presence (including platforms), spending behaviour and transaction readiness (are they likely to be ready to spend money on your brand today). For our Vanguard example, Media Monk specified 3 unique segments as follows:
Segment 1
Young Professionals
Age Range : 25-35
Social Media Active : Yes
Relevant Interests : Financial planning
Wealth Management : Relevant
Investment Opportunities : Relevant
Spending Power : Moderate
Transaction Readiness : High
Segment 2

Age Range : 45-55

Relevant Interests : Private banking
Asset Management : Relevant

Segment 3
Retirees and Pre-Retirees
Age Range : 55-65
Social Media Active : No
Relevant Interests : Estate planning
Fixed Income Products : Relevant
Financial Advice : Relevant

Ready-made Headlines: In addition to the above data-points, Media Monk will also generate 5 punchy headlines that will be used across various assets as and when the AI engine determines the need. For the Vanguard example, here are the headlines generated.
